From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Questers and Planners parties.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
